Deep Connection to the California Redwoods

In the Northern California forest, I feel connected as the silence and the scent of the redwoods merge around me once I am in their midst. Each time I immerse myself among the tall redwoods and emerge from their shaded, impeccable silence, I feel both complete and detached, confident and cheerful. It's challenging to put these moments into words, so I capture them through drawings in my architectural book; it's my way of expressing these experiences. My connection to the forest feels deeply rooted in my genes, making me feel at home whenever I breathe its freshly generated air. The lines I draw in my sketches reflect these moments and this environment, from the ferns to the towering strength of the redwoods.

There are so many magical moments in our state, here I can breathe fresh air, enjoy a moment of silence to recharge, behind me is the Anderson Valley filled by beautiful wineries and scenic mediterranean vibes, the fog is so important in this region, it is the center of its vein that make this magical moments cherish. Thousands of years these trees and ferns recycle naturally to reach the sky. The ferns and redwood sorrels blanket the ground and dance as well, they also welcome a small portion of lights to slant gently on them.

I draw constantly in my architecture book, for over 15 years now, to capture moments like this with the same ink and paper! I got to a redwood room, sit, and think, then go breathe fresh air again - all at home!
